Amy Pratt Represents OSEP at the NSTA STEM Forum Along with OSEP Partners from Siemens

ST. LOUIS, MO – OSEP Associate Director, Amy Pratt is co-presenting at the NSTA STEM Forum this week. Charles Cohen, Director of the Sustainability Education Program at Siemens Building Technologies Division, and Darlene Peterson, the Marketing Manager for the Sustainability Education Program at Siemens Building Technologies Division were the co-presenters for the talk, titled Innovation and Collaboration in STEM Education: industry-university partnerships to enhance teacher professional development. The presentation focused on best practices from the design, implementation, and outcomes of a professional development program, focused on climate change and sustainability, for high school teachers across the STEM disciplines. The program, the 2012 Climate Change and Sustainability Professional Development Series, was a partnership between OSEP and Siemens. This professional development program is aligned with the vision of science education advanced in the Next Generation Science Standards Framework and is helping to build the type of instruction needed for students to achieve the standards based on it. The NSTA STEM Forum runs from May 15-18, 2013 and brings together STEM Educators from around the country to share ideas and best practices.
